THE CHALLENGES
Their dedication to exceptional fit and sustainability meant a standard size chart wouldn’t cut it. They needed:
- Accurate, real-world body data to validate size charts and grading before production.
- Insights into where fit gaps existed and which sizes were driving the highest returns.
- Data to help refine grading rules and improve size coverage—reducing waste from unnecessary sampling and production errors.
Without these insights, shoppers often faced sizing uncertainty—leading to cart abandonment, poor fit experiences, and higher return rates.
THE SOLUTION
The brand first implemented Bold Metrics’ Smart Size Chart, giving shoppers personalized size recommendations from just a few quick inputs—no measurements, photos, or scans required.
With accurate, anonymized shopper body data flowing in from the SSC, the brand then used Apparel Insights to put that data to work across technical design. Using Apparel Insights, the brand could:
- Validate proposed grading changes before production.
- Visualize fit coverage to spot and fix gaps across sizes.
- Analyze return rates by size to target improvements that reduced costly returns.
This two-phase approach, starting with SSC to improve online fit confidence, then scaling with Apparel Insights, allowed the brand to design with real customer data, reduce waste, and deliver a consistent, exceptional fit.
